I'm Terri, a qualified primary teacher based in Double Bay, offering one-on-one tutoring and learning support in reading, writing and maths — after school and on Saturday mornings.

I have years of experience coaching Years 1 to 7, which means I know exactly what a Year 3 phonics check looks like, why times tables suddenly matter in Year 4, and how NAPLAN pressures dominate Years 3, 5 and 7. My experience helps me to figure out — quickly — where a child is actually stuck, and why, and I have numerous examples of children who have improved and even elevated to the "A" class after we focus on areas they find difficult.
Every session is built around the child in front of me: confidence-building for a reluctant reader, steady repetition for a child who needs maths to "click," or focused exam practice in the lead-up to assessments. Parents get a short, honest note after every session — no jargon, no vague "great work today!"

Sessions are tailored to your child's year group and school, drawing on the NSW primary curriculum. If you're not sure what your child needs, that's a perfectly good place to start.
Reading & phonics
Decoding, fluency and comprehension for early and developing readers, including phonics screening check preparation.
Writing & spelling
Sentence building, grammar and spelling patterns, building up to confident, well-structured paragraphs.
Maths foundations
Number sense, times tables and problem-solving, going back to fill gaps rather than rushing ahead.
NAPLAN and OC / Scholarship testing prep
Calm, structured practice ahead of important NAPLAN and OC / Scholarship eligibility assessments — focused on reducing exam anxiety.
Homework support
A steady weekly slot to work through set homework, build routine, and take the evening battle off the table.
Confidence building
For kids who've decided they're "bad at" a subject — small wins, real praise, and a reason to try again.
